The NCRN portfolio consists of cancer clinical trials and other well-designed studies funded by members of the NIHR, plus a
number of other studies funded through other sources.
The purpose of the NCRN portfolio is to provide a database of cancer research of assured quality and relevance to the remit of
the NCRN and enables access to NCRN infrastructure resource within the Research Networks.
The NCRI Clinical Studies Groups have been established to develop the portfolio
and are intended to provide the primary route through which new ideas for cancer trials are developed. Researchers developing new
studies are recommended to contact the relevant Group as early as possible in the development process.
A process is now established for including appropriate studies funded and sponsored by industry. For more information
please refer to the UKCRN website or contact
Dr Matt Cooper, NCRN Principal Fellow for Clinical Trials.
A Frequently Asked Questions section provides additional guidance on the processes for submitting a study
for inclusion in the NCRN portfolio, or contact Liz Pittendreigh, NCRN Clinical Trials Liaison Officer, for more information.
The NCRN Portfolio is part of the wider NIHR Clinical Research Network Portfolio, and as such it is bound by the NIHR eligibility criteria. These are set out in the paper below.
